All About IBE®

The reason why I love IBE® is because it was created to add length and/or volume to a client’s hair with the health of the scalp and hair at the top of their list. They created a hand tied method that focuses on flexibility and equal weight distribution. Unlike other traditional beaded weft methods, with IBE® there is no contact of a bead with the scalp at any time. Because of that, as well as their focus on proper tension, IBE® is a much more comfortable extension experience. Their focus is on the precision of stitching and beadwork which allows for a longer time in between move ups.

They are known as the “Original Flip Up” for good reason. It was the first extension method to show a bead-less flip up. They were the first to truly research and develop a method which put the safety of the clients hair and scalp first. They were the first to be transparent with their grow out, showing the world what their guest’s extensions look like at 6, 10, 14, and 26 weeks! They had nothing to hide! Many methods have tried to copy the IBE® flip up but their attention to detail is unmatched. Their emphasis on proper tension and placement is not found in any other extension method.

IBE® Care

Morning & Night Time Routine

Brush your hair in the morning, when needed during the day, and most importantly before going to bed. Always firmly hold the wefts at the scalp with one hand, to prevent too much tension and unnecessary pulling. Always brush your hair in sections starting from the bottom and working your way up. At bedtime, long extensions should be braided into one or two loose braids. The reason for this is to prevent tangling, damage to the attachment, and traction of your own hair where the extensions are attached. I would also use a silk cap or pillowcase. I recommend using the Kitsune brand. It prevents breakage, retains moisture, antimicrobial, and hypoallergenic.

For up keep I recommend applying the Goldie Locks serum from the mid-ends of your hair twice a day to keep your extensions in the best health so they can last you 8-12 months.

Washing and Styling

Wash your hair with the Goldie Locks shampoo and conditioner. Towel dry, then apply their leave-in conditioner and serum to the mid-ends of the hair. Brush your hair in small sections starting at the bottom of the hair and working your way up to the scalp. Your blow dryer setting, as well as any other hot tools, should be on medium to low heat to avoid any damage.

Swimming/Beach/Lake Trips

Before going in the water, make sure to coat your hair with the Goldie Locks leave-in conditioner and/or serum to coat the hair to keep the extensions hydrated and protected. Also keep the hair in braids or a secure ponytail to keep the hair from getting tangles. Follow up using the Goldie Locks clarifying shampoo to get all the chemicals, chlorine, and hard water out of the extensions to prevent them from drying out. Make sure to follow up with the Goldie Locks hydrating mask.

STAY AWAY from sunscreens that contain AVOBENZINE. It will cause your extensions to turn pink and not in a good way!
